Mr. Moberly began writing his 'Business IP and Intangible Asset Blog' in mid-summer, 2008. Since that time, his 'blog' has found readers in 65 countries and 41 states. Mike personally writes each blog and conducts his own research. He says, excluding a daily research regimen on a range of issues related to intangible assets and intellectual property, actually writing and posting a blog generally requires about two hours. Mike tries to write 2-3 blog posts per week depending on his schedule. Typically, his workday begins at 4:00 a.m. in which he 'frames out' that day's blog post. Then off to his favorite Starbucks, arriving by 5:30 a.m. when they open, where he writes and posts his blogs which he tries to complete by 7:30 or 8:00 a.m. Condensing the message to less than a page, selecting issues/topics that have current relevance and explaining why they're relevant, and sometimes being provocative, yet always respectful in your writing style, are some of the keys to building readership. 'Business IP and Intangible Asset Blog' readers will rountinely find Mike's blog posts landing on page one of Google, something he attributes to the original content of each post. |

Mr. Moberly has been invited to speak at the upcoming European Union 'Information Assets Protection' Conference' in London on January 25, 2010. The conference is sponsored by ASIS International. Mike's presentation will focus on 'Managing and Securing Business Assets In The Knowledge-Based Economy: Intangible Assets, Intellectual Capital, and Intellectual Property'. This will be an excellent opportunity to collaborate and learn from fellow 'information asset protection' specialists and experts throughout the E.U. |

Mr. Moberly was a co-presenter along with Dr. Lynn Fischer, a long time and nationally respected senior analyst with DoD's Personnel Security Research Center (Monterrey, CA) on a year long collaborative project regarding 'insider threats/risks to proprietary information, trade secrets, and intellectual property. Their session at the ASIS Annual Seminar & Exhibits was titled, 'Insider Risks: Threats To Information Assets'. Mr. Moberly also served a moderator for another session at ASIS Internationals' Annual Seminar & Exhibits titled 'Prosecuting a Trade Secret Thief: Defining Success and Avoiding Pitfalls'. This session was conducted by one of Mike's colleagues, Jeff Gurule, Managing Director of The Obsyss Group, a 'silicon valley' based firm. Jeff is a well known, highly experienced and respected information asset protection expert. Both sessions were well received by attendees at ASIS' 55th Annual Seminar & Exhibits with more than 120 information security - asset practitioners attending the sessions. |

Mr. Moberly served as Program Chair for a two-day seminar in Denver sponsored by the American Society for Industrial Security International and the Information Asset Protection Council, which Mike currently serves as its vice-chair. The guiding theme of the program was to focus on the realities of the ever changing global business transaction environment that has experienced a significant economic shift in the past decade, i.e., 65+% of most company's value, sources of revenue, sustainability, and growth are directly linked to intangible assets and intellectual property. Mike brought together many extraordinarily experienced speakers that addressed numerous relevant topics such as NDA's, market-entry planning and due diligence, protecting R&D environments, working with corporate legal teams, dealing with insider threats, product counterfeiting and piracy, shielding against competitor intelligence and data mining, litigating trade secret cases, and new technologies for managing proprietary-sensitive information. |

Mr. attended the 'Transatlantic Intellectual Property Collaboration' conference at the U.S. Chamber of Commerce headquarters in Washington. The conference focused on U.S. - E.U. cooperation on intellectual property protection and enforcement. The two-day conference focused on cooperative anti-counterfeiting and piracy policies and re-enforcing U.S. and E.U. cooperation and was divided into U.S. and EU approaches to protecting IP and communicating the value of IP. |
